Tekken movie

Postby Effervex » 03 May 2009 12:21

So they're making a Tekken movie. I'm hoping it won't suck balls. The proposed casting seems ok and most of the characters look as they should. But they haven't mentioned anything of the animal characters!

Anyway, it's set to coincide with the Tekken 6 release date later this year.

Well, it worked super well for Mortal Kombat. So well, in fact, that they made a way better sequel.
If Jerry Seinfeld, Woody Allen and Seth Rogan had been in World War Two, would it have been a Lolacasut?

It would probably be to the movies benefit if there was no Kuma, Alex or Roger involved.

You're right about the casting, they all look the part. Gogo from Kill Bill as Ling Xiaoyu is awesome.

How can they not have Wesley Snipes as Raven? I suppose it would make Ravem look alot (i.e. exactly) like Blade, seeing as thats what they based the character on.

How do they plan on casting Wei and Law? Seeing as they are based on existing actors.

EDIT: Wait I had heard about this, Shang Tsung is playing Heihachi. How fucking awesome is that.
Further Edit: Just been reading about the guy who is going to play Craig Marduk. Apparantly Marduk is based off this guy in real life; he was Australias most wanted criminal at some point, spent 7 years in prison, got into powerlifing and become world chap really quick, won an arm wrestle against some european champion called Magnes, then refused to lose the second round so pulled with his opposite arm to prevent defeat, breaking his competing arm in the process. Then he got into wrestling for a while, and also played the guy who got shanked by Achilles at the start of Troy. He was accompanied into the ring once by Rove McManus (from the variety show). and Rove got hit by Jeff Jarrets guitar. What an interesting monday morning story.

They probably excluded Kuma because otherwise the Kuma-Paul feud would have to be put in as well. And I haven't seen mention of Paul. He'd be perfect comic relief.

Paul is one of the best characters in Tekken. I don't mean Tier wise (I think he's middle of the road in 6) but fun to play and has cool story lines.

I sure hope you don't plan on buying Tekken 6 until you've played Metal Gear Solid, mister.

I have regular healthy servings of Metal Gear Online. If only it was 5 plus a day.

Tekken is a 2010 martial arts film directed by Dwight Little, based on the fighting game series of the same name. The film follows Jin Kazama (Jon Foo) in his attempts to enter the Iron Fist Tournament in order to avenge the loss of his mother, Jun Kazama, by confronting his father, Kazuya Mishima (Ian Anthony Dale) and his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), the latters of whom he thought were responsible for her death. As of January 14, 2010, an international trailer has been released.....
